LONDON (Alliance News) - WH Smith PLC said Chief Financial Officer & Chief Operating Officer Robert Moorhead sold 25,000 shares at a price of 2,037.79 pence each on Monday.
Moorhead's holding in the newspaper and stationery retailer was not disclosed following the GBP509,446 deal.
WH Smith also announced that Graham Miller, finance director of the company's Travel arm, bought 850 shares at the same price for GBP17,321.
In January, WH Smith reported sales growth during the Christmas season, helped by a strong performance from Travel. For the 20 weeks to January 19, the newspaper and stationery retailer reported total sales up 6% on the prior year, with like-for-like sales flat during the period. In Travel, which operates shops at stations and airports, total sales were up 16%
The retailer plans to open further 20 UK stores under the Travel arm during its current financial year to August 31.
Shares in WH Smith were down 0.2% at 2,036.00p on Tuesday.
