LONDON (Alliance News) - Clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company Verona Pharma PLC said on Thursday Chair David Ebsworth bought 26,300 shares for 56.30 pence each on Wednesday.
Following this GBP14,807 transaction, Ebsworth now holds 217,887 shares in Verona Pharma, reflecting a 0.2% stake in the company.
Shares in Verona Pharma were up 3.7% at 57.04 pence on Thursday.
On Monday, the company announced positive data from a phase two clinical trial of a dry powder inhaler formulation of its ensifentrine treatment for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
In the first part of the trial, 37 patients with COPD, an umbrella term for a number of lung diseases such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis, experienced a significant increase in their lung function when taking the drug.
