DIRECTOR DEALINGS SUMMARY: WH Smith Executives Offload Shares

LONDON (Alliance News) - The following is a summary of director dealings reported in London on Thursday.

Newsagent and book retailer WH Smith said three of its directors sold 490,349 shares in the company in total, after the exercise of share options. The sales were worth GBP8.1 million before expenses.

Chief Executive Stephen Clarke sold one lot of 100,371 shares and another of 65,241 shares, all at 1,657.72 pence per share. That leaves him with 290,064 shares, or a 0.25% stake.

Robert Moorhead, WH Smith's chief financial officer and chief operating officer, made three separate sales, all at the same price as Clarke. He sold the shares in lots of 101,327, 65,863 and 100,000. He now owns 302,676 shares in the company, or a 0.26% stake.

Non-Executive Director Ian Houghton sold one lot of 26,766 shares and another of 30,781, at the same price as the other two directors. He now owns 84,986 shares in WH Smith, or a 0.07% stake.

Shares in WH Smith closed down 0.5% to 1,651.00p on Thursday.

Respiratory drug development company Synairgen on Thursday said four of its directors bought 163,000 shares in the business on Wednesday, all at 23.00 pence per share.

Chief Executive Richard Marsden bought 43,460 shares, giving him a total holding of 154,432 shares, or a 0.17% stake. Finance Director John Ward bought 32,594 shares, taking his holding up to 276,506 shares, or a 0.3% stake.

Chief Scientific Officer Philip Monk bought 21,729 shares for a total of 183,439 shares, or 0.2% of the share capital. And Chairman Simon Shaw bought 65,217 shares, taking his total stake up to 1.6%, or 1.5 million shares.

Synairgen shares closed up 14% to 26.76p on Thursday.

E-commerce software provider ATTRAQT Group said its Chairman was among the shareholders selling shares as part of an adjacent share issue launched alongside a placing the company conducted to raise expansion funds.

The company has placed 5.0 million shares with Azini to raise GBP2.6 million for Chairman Dan Wagner, Bright Station Ventures Ltd, Alan Docter and John Wagner, the selling shareholders.

That came alongside the company raising GBP3.3 million in a separate share issue to back the expansion of its UK and US sales team and its production capacity.

Shares in ATTRAQT closed down 4.8% at 61.90p.

Online gaming company Gaming Realms said its chief executive acquired shares in the company on Thursday. Patrick Southon has bought 400,000 shares at 25.00 pence per share, making the transaction worth GBP100,000. As a result, his holding in the company is 11.6 million shares, or 4.7% of the issued share capital. Shares in Gaming Realms closed up 0.8% at 24.82p.

Camellia said Chairman Malcolm Perkins bought shares in the company on Wednesday. Perkins bought 100 shares in the company for 9,099.00 pence per share. He now owns 1,673 shares, or a 0.06% stake. The agricultural, engineering and private banking group's shares closed up 1.1% at 9,200.00p.

Zoltav Resources said Marcus Rhodes, a non-executive director, bought 15,000 shares in the company on Tuesday this week. The 15,000 shares, which were purchased at 32.00 pence each, comprise Rhodes' entire stake in the company. The director now owns 0.01% of the oil and gas exploration and production company. Shares in Zoltav closed up 6.0% at 26.49p.

Brewer SABMiller said Non-Executive Director Dinyar Devitre sold shares in the company on May 26. SABMiller said it was informed about the sale on Tuesday. Devitre sold 1,125 shares in the company for 3,571.66 pence. He is a nominee on the board of Altria Inc, the US tobacco giant which owns a major stake in the company. On Wednesday, Anheuser-Busch InBev NV went formal with its GBP71.0 billion takeover bid for SABMiller, a deal which will create by far the biggest brewer in the world, responsible for around a third of all global beer volumes. SABMiller shares closed up 0.4% to 4,031.98p.

HgCapital Trust said Director Mark Powell bought 2,000 shares at 25 pence each Thursday at a price of 1,086.00 pence.
This takes Powell's interest in the company to 5,000 shares, or a less than 1.0% stake. Shares in HgCapital Trust closed down 0.4% at 1,075.00 pence Thursday.

3i Infrastructure said Non-Executive Director Steven Wilderspin bought 16,000 shares at a price of 178.674 pence per share on Thursday.
3i didn't provide Wilderspin's resulting total holding. The stock closed down 0.6% at 177.20p Thursday.
