DIRECTOR DEALINGS SUMMARY: Saga Chair Spends GBP5.1 Million On Shares

LONDON (Alliance News) - The following is a summary of director dealings reported in London on Thursday.

Saga said a company owned by its chairman has bought 2.6 million shares in the company in a deal valued at a total of GBP5.1 million.

Saga, which provides products and services for over-50s, said a family investment company owned by Chairman Andrew Goodsell bought the shares at 195.00 pence per share. The transaction was completed on Tuesday and the company was notified about it on Thursday.

The purchase came after Acromas Bid Co, the private equity-vehicle run by the former owners of Saga, had sold its entire 32% stake in the business for GBP687.7 million.

Shares in Saga closed down 0.2% at 210.50 pence.

Hargreaves Services said four of its directors purchased a total of 250,000 shares in the company for 170.00 pence per share on Thursday. The solid fuels supplier and bulk material logistics group said Chief Executive Gordon Banham bought 205,000 shares, taking his total holding to 2.5 million shares, or a 7.8% stake. Chairman David Morgan bought 30,000 shares, Non-Executive Director Peter Jones bought 10,000 shares and Nigel Halkes, also a non-executive, bought 5,000. For all three, the purchases are their only holding in the company. Shares in Hargreaves Services closed down 6.3% at the end of 2014.77.44p.

Miner BlueRock Diamonds said it raised GBP700,000 by selling 6.4 million new shares at 11 pence each to new and existing investors. Chief Executive Adam Waugh is buying 227,273 shares in the placing, which will comprise his entire 0.59% stake in BlueRock. Also acquiring the same number of shares is Paul Beck, the company's non-executive chairman, who will have an interest in just shy of 2.0 million shares, equivalent to a 5.07% stake. Shares in Bluerock Diamonds closed down 6.9% at 14.90p.

Grocer Tesco said its chairman has bought shares in the company on Thursday. Tesco said John Allan bought 15,000 shares in the company at 174.63 pence per share. Tesco did not disclose Allan's total shareholding. Shares in Tesco closed down 1.6% at 172.03p.

Sirius Minerals said Non-Executive Director Elizabeth Harwerth bought shares in the company on Wednesday. Harwerth bought 49,608 shares at an average of 18.12 pence per share. Her total interest in the company is now 69,445 shares. Shares in Sirius Minerals closed up 2.8% at 18.50p.

Financial information company ADVFN said it has issued new shares to its chief executive, raising GBP25,000. The company said it has issued 113,636 shares to CEO Clem Chambers at 22.00 pence per share. The company said the proceeds will be used for working capital purposes. Shares in ADVFN were up 4.0% at 20.28p

Kier Group said the finance chief of its property business sold shares in the company on Wednesday. Alastair Gordon-Stewart sold 1,072 shares at 1,231.00 pence per share, leaving him with 1,564 shares in the company. Shares in Kier Group were down 0.2% at 1,220.00p.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes said the managing director of its UK retail business sold shares in the company on Monday. Ladbrokes said Lee Drabwell sold 2,872 shares at 119.61 pence per share. It did not disclose his holding following the sale. Shares in Ladbrokes last closed 1.2% at 120.10p.

Devro said Chairman Gerard Hoetmer bought 15,000 shares at an average price of 284.1 pence per share. Following this Hoetmer has a total interest in 60,000 shares, or a less than 1.0% stake in the company. Shares in Devro closed down 0.5% at 280.25p.

AG Barr Commercial Director Jonathan Kemp sold 4,896 shares at a price of 606 pence Wednesday. Following this sale Kemp has an interest in 20,729 shares, or a less than 1.0% stake. Shares in AG Barr closed down 0.9% at 603.50p.

Carpetright said Chief Executive Wilf Walsh and the wife of Finance Director Neil Page both bought shares in the company. Walsh bought 16.3 million shares at GBP3.05 each, following which he now holds 41.3 million shares representing 0.06% of the company's issued share capital. Page's wife bought 6,500 shares at GBP3.01 each, following which she and Page now hold 28.8 million shares representing 0.04% of the company's issued share capital. Shares in Carpetright closed down 3.8% at 300.25p.
