LONDON (Alliance News) - The following is a summary of director dealings reported in London on Thursday and late Wednesday.

New Barclays Chief Executive Jes Staley bought GBP6.5 million worth of shares in the bank ahead of his start date on December 1. Staley bought the 2.79 million shares at 233.00 pence each on Wednesday.
The former JP Morgan Chase & Co investment banker was named as the the successor to ousted retail banker Antony Jenkins in late October, when he stated his commitment to ensuring that Barclays' troublesome investment bank becomes less capital-intensive. Staley will have the potential to earn a total of GBP8.2 million per year.
Barclays shares closed down 1.4% at 228.15p Thursday.

Communications technology company Spirent Communications said Non-Executive Director Jonathan Silver has acquired 30,000 shares in the company on Thursday. Silver bought the shares for 68.4128 pence per share and the shares are his only holding. On Thursday, Spirent said its revenue for the third quarter rose but said it expects to book restructuring charges in the fourth quarter as it makes changes in order to offset shifts in the wireless devices and carrier acceptance test market. Shares in the company closed down 10% at 67.00p Thursday.

4imprint Group said Corporate Services Director and Legal Counsel Andrew Scull and a connected person have sold 11,383 shares in the company. Scull and the connected person sold the shares at 1,286.00 pence on Thursday. Following the sale Scull owns 121,617 shares in the company, or a 0.4% stake. 4impint shares closed down 0.2% at 1,285.54p Thursday.

Equiniti Group said Non-Executive Director John Parker purchased 31,439 shares in the company for 158.0 pence each on Wednesday. The company did not state what holding or stake Parker had following the transaction. In late October, the company launched its initial public offering at price of 165.0 pence per share. Equiniti shares closed up 3.5% Thursday to recover that IPO price of 165.00p.

HSBC Holdings said late Wednesday that long-serving board member Simon Robertson bought about GBP50,000 worth of shares in the banking group on Wednesday. Robertson, who is in his last year as the deputy to Chairman Douglas Flint, has spent more than nine years on the banking group's board of directors. He bought 9,770 shares at 511.62 pence each, HSBC said. Shares in HSBC closed down 0.4% at 516.90p on Thursday.

Berendsen said late Wednesday that Christian Ellegaard, its managing director, facility, sold 72,101 shares in the European textile service business. The shares were sold at an average of 1,016.00 pence each. Ellegaard, who joined Berendsen in August 1993, now holds 72,833 shares. Berendsen shares closed flat at 1,017.00 pence on Thursday.
