DIRECTOR DEALINGS SUMMARY: Arian Silver Directors Take Part In Placing

LONDON (Alliance News) - The following is a summary of director dealings reported in London on Wednesday.

Arian Silver on Wednesday said it has raised GBP750,000 through a share placing and a further GBP47,875 through a subscription with directors and employees.

Arian issued 75.0 million shares at 1.00 pence per share under the placing, run by Beaufort Securities. Shares in the firm closed down 24% to 1.90p on Wednesday.

In addition, the company raised GBP47,875 through a subscription with its directors and employees, also priced at 1.00p per share.

Pursuant to the placing, Chief Executive Jim Williams bought 1.0 million shares, taking his placing up to 1.5 million shares in total. Chairman Tony Williams bought 1.7 million shares, his first holding.

Also participating were independent non-executive director Tom Bailey, who bought 1.3 million shares, also his first holding, while fellow independent non-executive James Crombie bought 416,665 shares, taking his holding to 566,665 shares.

Arian said it plans to use the proceeds to back the development of its mining concessions in Zacatecas in Mexico and for general corporate purposes.

Shares closed down 24% at 1.90p Wednesday.

Carpetright said two of its top executives bought shares a day after the carpets and floorings retailer reported third quarter fall in total sales in the UK.

Chief Executive Office Wilf Walsh bought 25,000 shares which is his only holding. While the wife of Finance Director Neil Page bought 6,250 shares, which increases his beneficial interest to 22,282 shares.

Both purchases were made at 400 pence each on Wednesday.

Carpetright on Tuesday reported a fall in total sales in the UK in the third quarter of its financial year, although like-for-like sales grew as recovery in customer numbers in the January sales period offset lower footfall in the run-up to Christmas.

The stock closed down 3.8% at 385.00p Wednesday.

Kainos Group said Strategic Planning Manager Jimmy Hiles bought 7,368 shares at a price of 209.00 pence per share on Tuesday. Following this transaction, Hiles now holds 685,000 shares, constituting 0.58% of the issued share capital. Shares in the IT services provider closed up 6.4% at 222.04p Wednesday.
