(Alliance News) - Unite Group PLC said Non-Executive Director Richard Akers purchased GBP20,838 worth of shares on on Friday.
Akers paid GBP10.4189 per share for 2,000 shares in the student housing company. His resultant holding was not disclosed.
On Wednesday, the UK Competitions & Markets Authority said it was probing Unite's possible GBP1.4 billion acquisition of fellow student accommodation provider Liberty Living Group.
The CMA invited "comments on the transaction from any interested party" as it considers whether the merger will lead to a substantial lessening of competition in the student accommodation market.
Separately on Wednesday, Unite said it expects the deal will be cleared in fourth quarter of 2019.
Shares in Unite closed up 0.9% at 1,049.00 pence in London on Friday.
