LONDON (Alliance News) - Pearson PLC on Friday said its new chairman, Sidney Taurel, made his first purchase in the education and publishing group.
Taurel, the former chief executive officer and chairman of American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly and Co, marked his arrival at Pearson by purchasing 50,000 American Depositary Receipts at USD12.01 each on Wednesday, which is his only holding.
One ADR equals one ordinary share.
Taurel assumed the role in January having succeeded Glen Moreno, who stepped down at the end of 2015 after more than a decade as Pearson's chairman.
Pearson ordinary shares were up 1.7% at 871.50 pence Friday.
