(Alliance News) - Berkeley Group Holdings PLC on Tuesday said Chair Anthony Pidgley sold more than a million shares of the housebuilding company in two transactions on Monday.
Pidgley - who founded Berkeley - sold 1 million shares at a price of GBP50.40 per share and 1,393 shares at the same price for the total amount of GBP50.5 million.
Shares in Berkeley were 3.2% lower at 5,048.00 pence on Wednesday afternoon in London, giving a GBP6.35 billion market capitalisation.
This share sale follows Pidgley selling a GBP9 million stake in the firm in January 2018, a GBP3.7 million stake in July this year, and a further GBP42 million stake in October.
Pidgley's holding in Berkeley after the transaction was not disclosed. However, according to Morningstar on Tuesday afternoon, he held 2.7 million shares or a 2.1% stake in the company.
