DIRECTOR DEALINGS: Berkeley Chair Pidgley, Non-Exec Armitt Sell Shares

(Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed Berkeley Group Holdings PLC said Wednesday Chair Anthony Pidgley sold shares worth over GBP42 million in a transaction on Tuesday, with a non-executive also disposing of a stake.

Pidgley - who founded the housebuilder in 1976 - sold 1.0 million shares at a price of 4,200 pence, worth GBP42 million. Shares in Berkeley were 1.1% lower at 4,421.00 pence on Wednesday, giving it a market capitalisation of GBP5.60 billion.

The stake of Pidgley in Berkeley after the transaction was not disclosed. However, according to Berkeley's 2019annual report, he held 4.6 million shares or a 3.5% stake in the company as of the end of April 2019.

The share sale follows Pidgley selling a GBP37.2 million stake in the firm in July.

In a separate announcement, Berkeley also announced Non-Executive Director John Armitt sold shares worth GBP87,900 in the housebuilder on Tuesday.

Armitt disposed of 2,000 shares at 4,395.69 pence each. The holding of Armitt after the transaction was not disclosed.
