(Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC on Monday said it has secured a EUR1.6 million contract extension with OMV Petrom SA for the use of Directa's patented Grafysorber technology.
The London-based graphene product maker said the deal extended the original framework agreement between the two companies, which began in 2021 and is due to run to December 31, 2026.
OMV Petrom is a Romanian oil company, one of the largest in South Eastern Europe, and a subsidiary of Austrian oil, gas and petrochemical firm OMV AG.
The initial deal has generated more than EUR1.0 million in revenue to date for Directa.
Directa's Grafysorber technology is used to treat oil sludge, emulsions and contaminated water. The new contract includes the treatment of up 40,000 cubic metres of sludge or emulsion and up to 25,000 cubic metres of water, as well as the supply of adsorbent barriers and pillows for containment and absorption.
"This contract extension reaffirms the strong relationship Directa Plus has with longstanding clients, underpinning its credibility to deliver for major clients, evidenced by OMV Petrom's continued engagement and repeat business," said Founder & Chief Executive Officer Giulio Cesareo.
"The strong interest and continued adoption of our Grafysorber technology underlines both the value of our solutions and the strength of demand in the region. We are confident in the new executive team as they lead the business into its next phase of growth."
Shares in Directa Plus were down 3.5% at 7.00 pence each in London on Monday at midday. The stock is down 64% over the past year.
