(Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC on Monday said its newly acquired subsidiary Setcar has secured a contract worth about USD1 million to provide environmental decontamination services to the Trinity-1X gas project, offshore Romania.
Directa Plus said the three-month contract will run until February 2020. The Trinity-1X project is in the Trident gas field in Block 30, for which Lukoil and Romgaz are the operators.
The AIM-listed producer and supplier of graphene nanoplatelets-based products said the contract will use its graphene-based Grafysorber technology for decontaminating water, sludges and drilling muds containing oil.
"It will provide valuable experience to help accelerate the growth of our graphene-based decontamination services business in the oil and gas space," said Directa Plus Founder & Chief Executive Giulio Cesareo.
"Our technology can be applied in many different areas and we will continue to use our deep scientific knowledge to identify sector opportunities," added Cesareo.
Directa Plus said Setcar will be renamed Directa Environmental Services.
Directa Plus shares were trading 0.7% higher in London on Monday at 74.00 pence each.
