LONDON (Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC has "successfully" tested a new road surface in its first trial, the company said on Monday.
Directa Plus resurfaced a section of a road in Italy with its G+ upgraded asphalt "super modifier".
The road has been monitored since November, and the company said it registered strong results in fatigue, resistance to vehicle passage, and resistance to deformity.
The company is now talking with partner Iterchimica over testing the product in new locations in Italy as well as the UK, the US, and Oman.
Chief Executive Giulio Cesareo said: "This trial has proven the G+ upgraded asphalt supermodifier, is suitable for high-traffic roads, highways, airports, and ports.
"The product perfectly matches Directa Plus's and Iterchimica's vision by offering an innovative, environmentally friendly and sustainable solution to the challenge of reducing the carbon footprint of road surfacing and resurfacing."
Shares were 4.8% higher on Monday at midday at 60.25 pence each.
