LONDON (Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC on Thursday said it was awarded two new patents for the application of its G+ graphene products.
The first is an Italian patent for the use of Directa's G+ graphene in the manufacturing of golf balls. The use of the material in golf balls increases the shot distance potential of the ball without losing lateral control, the firm explained.
"The use of the G+ compounds in golf balls, can provide a series of beneficial features that offer opportunities to develop a new generation of golf ball, both for professional and amateur players," Directa added.
The second is a Chinese patent, covering Directa Plus' process for the manufacturing of graphene nanoplatelets.
"'I'm very pleased that we were able to secure two new patents. We continue to show how our G+ graphene nanoplatelets can enhance products in various categories, and it is vital that we secure the intellectual property rights needed to protect our unique technology in worldwide jurisdictions," Chief Executive Officer Giulio Cesareo said.
The company currently has been granted 22 patents, with further 22 pending approval.
Directa Plus shares were trading up 1.8% at 83.00 pence each on Thursday around midday.
