Directa Plus Gets EU Grant To Develop G+ Graphene Printing Technology

27th Jan 2020 11:01

(Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC said Monday it has received a grant of EUR100,000 for a project to develop an environmentally sustainable technology to digitally print its G+ graphene products on fabrics.

Directa Plus said it will partner with Italian subsidiary of global digital printing group Electronics For Imaging Inc, EFI Reggiani, and IBS Consulting Group for the project called the Green.Tex.

The supplier of graphene-based products said the project will last for an initial period of 24 months, and has a total value of EUR1.0 million, of which the company will invest EUR240,000 and receive a grant of EUR100,000.

The company said Green.Tex is aimed at reducing the environmental impact of printing graphene on fabric through the use of an advance material.

"The goal is to develop an innovative digital printing process using water-based graphene ink," the company said.

Giulio Cesareo, founder and chief executive officer, said: "We are delighted to be working with industrial partners at the forefront of their fields, to jointly develop applications and technology for graphene enhanced fabrics."

Directa Plus shares were un-traded in London at 75.00 pence each on Monday morning.
