Directa Granted Two Patents, Customer Unable To Satisfy Repayments

18th Oct 2016 07:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Directa Plus PLC on Tuesday said one of its customers is unable to satisfy the outstanding payments due, which may result in an impairment, and announced it has been granted a further two patents.

The graphene-based products supplier said its customer, which acquired three decontamination units in 2015 for EUR1.0 million, has said it will be unable to make repayments, after a regional governmental grant was rescinded.

Directa said it was currently in talks with its customer to resolve the matter, but noted that any potential impairment to accounts would be a non-cash item and would have no ongoing impact on its core business.

In a separate statement, Directa said it received two further patents covering its proprietary G+ manufacturing process.

The first patent is for the core of its technology, the liquid exfoliation phase, and the second is for the continuous process of preparing pristine graphene nanoplatelets, namely through natural graphite expansion, exfoliation and drying.

Directa said, following the grant, it has a portfolio of 14 patents, with 8 more patents pending.

Shares in Directa were up 0.8% at 122.00 pence on Tuesday morning.
