Dialight Anticipates Underlying Profit In Line With Previous Year

7th Nov 2013 09:58

LONDON (Alliance News) - Dialight PLC, a manufacturer of LED technology, said that it anticipates underlying profit before tax for the full year to be broadly in line with the previous year as it saw a good performance from its Industrial Lighting Business.

For the ten-month period to the end of October, the company's Industrial Lighting business performed well, it said, with sales growth of just under 60%. The company said that it has continued to invest in this business, including increasing headcount to over 100 sales people by the end of 2013 and setting up new operations in Brazil, Russia, a new facility in Malaysia and a second facility in Mexico.

Dialight said it believes these investments will increase Industrial Lighting's productive capacity by at least 50%.

In its Obstruction business, performance was affected by "the transition in our business model in this market", Dialight said without elaborating. Revenues for the business in the second half of 2013 would be flat on 2012, Dialight said.

In its Components business, performance was in line with previous guidance, Dialight said.

The company said that its results are weighted towards the second half due to the seasonally strong fourth quarter, but it remained difficult to predict the timing of orders for its Industrial Lighting business.

Shares in Dialight were trading down 15.00 pence at 1,020.00p per share Thursday morning.
