LONDON (Alliance News) - Diageo PLC on Wednesday said that its proposed appointment of Ursula Burns as non-executive director of the company has been cancelled, due to Burns taking up another role.
The spirits company in July 2017 announced her appointment as non-executive director, which was originally effective from April 2, 2018.
However, due to Burns being appointed as interim executive chairman of telecommunications company VEON Ltd, Diageo in March delayed the appointment. The company and Burns have now agreed that in light of her role at VEON, she will not take up her appointment at Diageo.
