LONDON (Alliance News) - Drinks giant Diageo PLC Wednesday said it has adjusted its executive committee after Nick Blaquez, the company's president of Africa and Asia Pacific, resigned.
Blaquez will be leaving Diageo after 27 years with the company in order to pursue "new opportunities and challenges", but will continue to hold his non-executive role as Diageo's nominee on the board of United Spirits Ltd until the end of 2016.
However, Blaquez will leave Diageo's executive committee at the end of June.
Importantly, Blaquez will not be replaced. John Kennedy, who is the current president of Diageo's operations in Europe, Russia and Turkey, will expand his responsibilities alongside Diageo's current president of Latin America and the Caribbean, Alberto Gavazzi, to fill the gap that will be formed when Blaquez leaves in June.
Kennedy also will replace Blaquez as Diageo's nominee on the board of United Spirits, whilst Gavazzi will become responsible for Diageo's operational excellence programme and its operations in the Middle East.
