Densitron Launches New Subsidiary For ePaper Display Units

13th Mar 2014 12:36

LONDON (Alliance News) - Information display systems company Densitron Technologies PLC Thursday said it has launched a new subsidiary, Densipaper, to sell its new range of Wi-fi based battery driven ePaper display units.

The new products use customers' existing wi-fi networks and can be scheduled to update at specific times. As they are battery powered, they do not require facilities or cabling to be put in place.

ePaper, or electronic paper, is a display designed to mimic the appearance of ink on paper that are not back lit. They can hold static text and images without using electricity.

The new subsidiary will be lead by Elijah Ebo, who will act as managing director. Ebo previously served as director of Densitron Asia, having previously worked as Densitron Europe's technical director.

Shares in Densitron were trading down 5.8% at 5.65 pence Thursday afternoon.
