LONDON (Alliance News) - Deltex Medical Group PLC said Friday that a study it has supported as part of its research collaboration with Premier Inc has been published online, and will be published in print in a leading medical journal.
Deltex makes oesophageal Doppler monitoring systems, used to measure blood flow. The study analyses data within the Premier Research Database on around 650,000 patients in 500 US hospitals.
"This is the first 'Big Data' study of the impact of variation in fluid management on patient outcomes and costs. It confirms that reducing such variation should be a high impact focus area for quality improvement in health systems looking to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs or both. This will be highly advantageous to our goal of establishing ODM as a standard of care," said Chief Executive Ewan Phillips in a statement.
