LONDON (Alliance News) - Deltex Medical Group PLC on Thursday said it has added two hospital accounts to its platform programme in the US, and it is making "good progress" towards achieving its key financial and operational goals for 2016.
The company, which makes oesophageal Doppler monitoring devices, said it has progressed towards its target of opening 30 US hospital platform accounts as precursor to a national roll out of oesophageal Doppler monitoring in the US.
Revenue from oesophageal Doppler monitoring probes for the first four months in the US was more than 50% ahead of the corresponding period in the previous year at local currency, Deltex said.
However, in contrast to the US and satisfactory growth in a number of international markets, oesophageal Doppler monitoring sales in the UK have declined so far in 2016.
Deltex attributed this fall to continuing "adverse trends", and expects the UK National Health Service to remain a "very challenging customer".
The company said its key priority in 2016 is to move its business through to a cash break-even point, and said it has already made "substantial progress" towards this by reducing costs and increasing US and international revenues.
Shares in Deltex were up 3.3% at 4.00 pence Thursday morning.
