LONDON (Alliance News) - Deltex Medical Group PLC on Wednesday said the data from its recent research collaboration with Premier Inc was presented in the US this week.
Deltex said the study focused on the post-operative complication of ileus, or paralysis of the gut, in more than 80,000 patients who undergo colorectal surgery.
The study showed 25% of patients who received the lowest volume of fluid on the day of surgery had a 12% higher risk of post-operative ileus. The 25% of patients who were given the highest volume of fluid on the day of surgery had a 10% higher risk of developing ileus.
Deltex makes oesophageal Doppler monitoring systems, which it says have been clinically proven to reduce post-operative complications, including ileus.
Shares in Deltex were untraded on Wednesday, last traded at 7.5 pence.
