De La Rue Banknote Printing Contract With Bank Of England Extended

30th Oct 2020 10:28

(Alliance News) - De La Rue PLC on Friday said it has secured a three-year extension to its existing banknote printing contract with the Bank Of England.

The Basingstoke-based bank note printer said the extension maintains its exclusivity in printing notes for the Bank of England and operating the UK central bank's facility in Debden, Essex, until 2028.

The current contract was awarded to De La Rue in October 2014.

"We are delighted that our contract with the Bank of England has been extended to 2028, highlighting De La Rue's commitment to UK manufacturing. We look forward to continuing to work together with the Bank, raising the bar for security and sustainability long into the future," said De La Rue Chief Executive Clive Vacher.

The stock was trading 0.9% lower at 135.23 pence each on Friday morning in London.
