LONDON (Alliance News) - DCD Media PLC said Thursday it has completed the sale of its Glasgow-based production business Matchlight Ltd for GBP200,000.
DCD is planning to use the money for the sale as working capital. It will maintain a relationship with the business, and its DCD Rights segment retains a long-term option over Matchlight's distribution rights.
DCD Rights recently sold three series of its shows 'Bridezillas' and 'Marriage Boot Camp' to ITV PLC's new channel ITVBe. It recently acquired distribution rights to the Open University catalogue in May, and said this catalogue is already generating 'lucrative' worldwide sales. It will launch a new Open University sales catalogue at the MIPCOM TV market this month.
DCD Rights has also licensed 'The Code' to BBC Four as well as other international broadcasters, including DirecTV in the US and Sundance Channel Latin America.
In its Production segment Rize USA secured a recommission for 'Liberty of London' with Channel 4, and September Films' new series of 'Celebrity Squares' launched September 10.
Shares in DCD are untraded Thursday at 332.50 pence.
