LONDON (Alliance News) - Aviation services and distribution company Dart Group PLC Thursday said it has seen some encouraging signs in leisure travel bookings during the summer months and said it remains optimistic that it will hit market expectations for the full-year.
In a statement, Dart Group Chairman Philip Meeson said the company has seen an encouraging rise in demand for leisure travel to the markets the company serves since June 26, when he said activity in the early summer months had been slower than expected, with market pricing also weak.
He said that while there has been an increase in demand since that update, it remains too early to say whether this will have a sustainable impact on ticket yields.
Meeson also said that the early indications so far for the winter 2014-15 season were "satisfactory."
He said Fowler Welch, the company's distribution and logistics business, is continuing to focus on growing its revenue pipeline and deliver operational efficiency improvements.
Meeson said the board is "optimistic" the company will meet market expectations for the year to March 31, 2015, with a further update to be provided after the company's half-year in October.
Dart Group shares were up 1.7% on Thursday to 223.75 pence.
