LONDON (Alliance News) - Dart Group PLC Wednesday said Jet2.com flights from Blackpool Airport will move to Manchester Airport from Friday following the news that Blackpool will shut down next week.
Blackpool Airport will remain open until October 15 but Dart said all flights run by its Jet2.com operating subsidiary from Blackpool will be moved to Manchester Airport from October 10.
The company said the two aircraft based at Blackpool Airport will be redeployed to other existing bases.
Blackpool Airport owner Balfour Beatty PLC said on Wednesday that no buyer has been found for the airport. It announced plans to sell the site, which has been loss-making for a number of years, in August.
Dart shares were down 2% to 210 pence on Wednesday, while Balfour shares were down 1.5% to 165.8 pence.
