Dart Group To Beat Market View Amid Good Demand; Buys 27 Boeing Jets

3rd Sep 2015 06:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Leisure travel, distribution and logistics company Dart Group PLC on Thursday said it is confident its full-year results will materially outpace market expectations following robust summer trading in its leisure travel arm and a solid performance in its Fowler Welch unit.

Dart said the early indications for the winter season in the leisure travel arm are satisfactory, but it said it has seen continued strong demand over the summer months for its package holiday and flight-only products.

In Fowler Welch, its distribution and logistics business, trading has been ahead year-on-year with a focus on growing its revenue pipeline and delivering operational improvements.

Dart also said it has entered into a deal with aerospace giant Boeing to buy 27 new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, to be delivered between September 2016 and April 2018. At current list prices, the deal with Boeing is worth USD2.6 billion, though Dart said it has negotiated "significant discounts" on the purchase order.
