LONDON (Alliance News) - Dart Group PLC Thursday said it has agreed to purchase three new aircraft which will be delivered over the next three years, building on its substantial order made in September.
The travel and logistics group has ordered three Boeing 737-800NG aircraft to be delivered between September 2016 and April 2018, building on an order made back in September for 27 Boeing aircraft which will also be delivered within the same time frame.
That means Dart Group will be acquiring 30 new Boeing aircraft before the end of April 2018.
The original order for 27 aircraft had a list price of around USD2.60 billion, but Dart Group had already said it had negotiated "significant discounts" on the order, and the additional three aircraft ordered Thursday are on "substantially" the same terms as the first order.
The three aircraft order has a value of around USD288.0 million at current list prices, meaning the total order for 30 aircraft comes in at around USD2.88 billion based on list prices.
The expansion to its aircraft fleet is in anticipation for rapid growth in Dart's leisure and travel business and is being funded through a combination of debt and existing resources.
Dart Group shares were trading up 0.3% to 561.50 pence per share on Thursday morning.
