Cyprotex Launches Genotoxicity Services From Michigan Lab

26th Apr 2016 09:23

LONDON (Alliance News) - Contract research organisation Cyprotex PLC on Tuesday said it has launched good laboratory practice-compliant genotoxicity services from its Kalamazoo laboratories in Michigan in the US.

Genotoxicity services are used in a range of industries for evaluating the potential risk to human health of various products. The tests are a regulatory requirement in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, chemical, pesticide and cosmetics and personal care industries.

"In vitro genotoxicity methods are now acceptable alternatives, either to completely replace animal testing as is the case with cosmetics products in Europe, or to be used within a testing battery to reduce the use of animals as is the case for pharmaceuticals or pesticide products," said Chief Executive Anthony Baxter.

"By introducing a suite of GLP compliant genotoxicity services, Cyprotex is addressing the needs of these markets for high-quality regulatory accepted methods," he added.

Cyprotex shares were down 2.1% to 93.00 pence Tuesday.
