Cyprotex Launches ADME Guide On Pharmaceutical Drug Processes

15th Oct 2015 07:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cyprotex PLC Thursday said it has launched its new ADME guide entitled 'Everything you need to know about ADME'.

ADME stands for absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion, which are the processes occurring to a pharmaceutical drug following dosing. Cyprotex is a specialist ADME and bioscience contract research organisation.

The company said that knowledge of the processes assists people in understanding drug concentrations in the blood and tissues within the body, which in turn influences efficacy, toxicity and potential drug-drug interactions.

Cyprotex said the new guide contains new material to the original guide launched in 2006.

"We have been offering ADME services since the inception of the company in 1999. Through our corporate responsibility policy, we aim to share our experience and knowledge in the field for the benefit of our customers and wider scientific community. Our guides have proved extremely popular and provide a valuable resource for scientists in a range of disciplines who want to have an up-to-date overview of the current testing methods and how the data are interpreted in both a drug discovery and development setting," Chief Executive Anthony Baxter said in a statement.

Shares in Cyprotex were untraded early Thursday, last quoted at 63.25 pence.
