Crest Nicholson Forward Sales Up, Brexit Not Hitting Momentum

17th Mar 2016 08:05

LONDON (Alliance News) - Housebuilder Crest Nicholson Holdings PLC on Thursday said forward sale revenues were up from last year, as the trading environment "continues to be positive" and sales "have been correspondingly strong".

Crest Nicholson Chairman William Rucker said, in a statement to be given at the company's annual general meeting, the housebuilder's cumulative forward sales revenues for 2016 was GBP311.0 million at March 11, 16% higher than GBP269.0 million last year.

Rucker said this was primarily down to a higher average selling price in the sales mix.

Rucker added momentum has continued since it posted its full year results on January 26 and indicated Crest Nicholson had seen no slow down in activity caused by uncertainty around the upcoming referendum on the UK's membership of the European Union.

"This robust level of sales underpins the board's confidence that the business is continuing to make good progress in delivering on its stated growth objectives," Rucker said.

Shares in Crest Nicholson were up 1.8% at 561.00 pence on Thursday morning.
