Crawshaw Says Sales Rising And Gabbotts Farm Integration On Track

23rd Jun 2015 08:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Fresh meat and food-to-go retailer Crawshaw Group PLC on Tuesday said like-for-like sales grew in the past eight weeks and said the integration of the Gabbotts Farm Ltd business has gone well.

Crawshaw said like-for-like sales for the company in the eight weeks since it published its full-year results on April 23 have grown 2.3%, compared to 6.4% growth reported a year earlier. The group added it has seen growth in customer numbers and average spend over the period.

It also said the integration of Gabbotts Farm Ltd, the butcher operator it bought in April for GBP3.9 million, has been "very smooth" and said the deal is boosting both sales and profitability.

"Our sales, customer numbers and average spend continue to increase reflecting the excellent quality and value we offer. Under the leadership of our new CEO Noel Collett, the board continue to build and develop the resource, infrastructure and initiatives to grow sales within the existing estate and deliver the roll out strategy in a controlled and disciplined manner," said Richard Rose, Crawshaw's chairman.

Shares in Crawshaw were up 1.8% to 63.65 pence on Tuesday.
