LONDON (Alliance News) - Estate agency Countrywide PLC on Thursday named Peter Long, who was previously the joint chief executive of tourism business TUI AG, as its new chairman.
Long, who serves also as the chairman of delivery company Royal Mail PLC, will take over from Grenville Turner, who will retire at Countrywide's annual meeting of shareholders in April.
"I am delighted to be joining the Countrywide board as chairman and am looking forward to working with Alison and her team. The group has a clear focus on its customers as it executes its strategy and generates long-term sustainable shareholder value," Long said.
Royal Mail noted Long's appointment to the board of Countrywide.
Long became the chairman of Royal Mail in September 2015.
Shares in Countrywide were down 0.3% at 350.80 pence Thursday morning, shortly after market open.
