Countryside Wins Joint Contract To Regenerate Rochester Riverside

21st Mar 2016 12:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Housebuilder and regeneration company Countryside Properties PLC on Monday said it has secured a joint contract to work on the regeneration of Rochester Riverside in Kent.

Medway Council has handed a contract to Countryside and engineer The Hyde Group to handle the GBP400.0 million project, which will see around 1,300 new homes built, along with a primary school, nursery, hotel, bar, restaurant and gym on a 74-acre site which adjoins Rochester town centre and its new railway station.

The first planning application for the site is set to be tabled in late 2016, with work to start by late 2017, subject to planning consent. The total project will take around 12 years to complete, Countryside said.

Shares in Countryside were up 0.5% to 231.825 pence.
