Costain Appointed To Three National Grid Framework Deals

25th Mar 2014 10:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Engineering company Costain Group PLC Tuesday said it had won work from the UK's National Grid, including underground cabling, building new overhead electricity lines, and upgrading the UK's gas transmission system.

National Grid is appointing contractors under so-called transmission framework deals as part of its GBP26 billion investment into the UK's gas and electricity networks up to 2021.

Costain has been appointed to three transmission frameworks. The company didn't say how much the awards would be worth, but said that framework contractors have the potential to share in a maximum of GBP500 million of work over the next four years as part of the civil works for underground cables framework.

Costain shares were down 0.3% at 271.00 pence Tuesday morning.
