(Correcting the value of Friday's purchase.)
(Alliance News) - NMC Health PLC, which came under attack last week from a US short seller, said Lord Clanwilliam bought GBP24,656 million in shares on Friday.
The independent non-executive director bought 1,700 shares at GBP14.50.
NMC shares dropped on Tuesday last week after short selling firm Muddy Waters Capital LLC said it had shorted the stock, commenting: "We have serious doubts about the company's financial statements, including its asset values, cash balance, reported profit, and reported debt levels."
NMC on Thursday hit back saying the Muddy Waters report was "false" and "misleading".
On Tuesday, NMC said Clanwilliam purchased another 2,900 shares on Monday at a price of GBP17.199, totalling GBP49,877, meaning the two purchases were together worth about GBP75,000.
Following the latest transaction this week, Clanwilliam has an interest over a total of 11,260 shares, representing approximately 0.005% of the issued share capital of the company.
