LONDON (Alliance News) - Mariana Resources Ltd on Tuesday said it has received further high-grade gold-copper intercepts from the ongoing drilling programme at the Hot Maden Project in north east Turkey.
Mariana said joint venture partner Lidya Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticarte SA has received results from the drilling programme which extend the known gold-copper mineralisation zone at the site both down-dip and to the north of the existing prospect area.
"Drilling continues to extend the high grade gold and copper mineralisation at Hot Maden to beyond the current limits of our 3.0 million ounce gold equivalent mineral resource," said Chief Executive Glen Parsons.
"Encouragingly the exploration holes to the south have also intercepted high grade gold in narrower structures. As drilling unfolds, this area could have additional resource potential should further economic mineralisation be discovered," Parsons added.
Mariana shares were up 12% on the news to 2.65 pence, one of the best performers in the London market.
