(Alliance News) - Energy services company Centrica PLC on Thursday said it appointed Heidi Mottram as a non-executive director, effective from the start of next year.
Mottram is chief executive of Northumbrian Water Ltd and Northumbrian Water Group Ltd. Previously she was managing director of Northern Rail, commercial director of Arriva Trains Northern, and operations director of Midland Mainline Ltd.
Mottram also is vice-chair of North East Local Enterprise Partnership, a member of the board of business lobby group CBI, and vice chair of Newcastle University Council.
Chair Charles Berry said: "I am delighted to welcome Heidi to the board of Centrica. She brings considerable relevant strategic and operational experience acquired in her current and previous roles. Her deep understanding of the importance of customer service, delivered in complex multi-stakeholder environments with a high public profile, is particularly pertinent to Centrica as it focuses on the delivery of its customer-centric strategy."
Shares in FTSE 100-listed Centrica were up 0.4% at 80.22 pence each on Friday in London.
