CORRECT (Aug 23): Blue Planet Investment Trust Stake Sale, Purchase

3rd Sep 2019 09:50

(Correcting that Blue Planet shareholders voted in accordance with the recommendation of the board against winding up the investment trust.)

(Alliance News) - Blue Planet Investment Trust PLC said Labrador Coast Ltd sold its holding in the company on Friday, after holding a 28% stake prior.

Following the deal, Labrador had no shares in the securities investor - having previously held a 28% stake.

Meanwhile Seabright Seattle Nominees Ltd, which previously had no stake in the firm, took up the same stake - 28% or 14.0 million shares - on the same day.

Blue Planet Investment shareholders voted on Thursday against a motion to authorise the company's voluntary winding up. The vote supported the recommendation of the company board against winding up, according to a Blue Planet director. Blue Planet said 98% of votes cast rejected the proposal at the annual general meeting.
