Coro Energy Hires Former Ophir Energy CEO Nick Cooper As Director

15th Jan 2020 11:43

(Alliance News) - Coro Energy PLC on Wednesday said it has hired Nick Cooper as an independent non-executive director, effective immediately.

Cooper is currently a director at North Sea oil producer Siccar Point Energy Ltd and at gas production company Galileo Technologies Ltd.

He was chief executive at exploration & production company Ophir Energy from 2011 until 2018. Ophir was London-listed until being purchased by Medco Energi Global PTE Ltd of Indonesia.

Prior to that, Cooper co-founded Asia-focussed exploration and production company Salamander Energy PLC in 2005 and served as chief financial officer. He previously was director at Dominion Petroleum Administrative Services Ltd and Indonesia-based Starborn Petroleum Ltd.

"I am delighted that Nick is joining the board at an exciting time for Coro. His extensive industry and highly relevant regional experience will add hugely to our strategic deliberations and transaction expertise as we look to address the many opportunities that are emerging in Southeast Asia," said Chair James Parsons.

Shares in Southeast Asian focused Coro Energy were down 5.6% at 1.86 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
