LONDON (Alliance News) - Cyber security company Corero Network Security PLC said Monday it has received an order for its SmartWall Threat Defense System from a regional European hosting provider worth USD200,000.
Corero said the order follows a successful proof of concept trial, in which it showed real-time protection against distributed denial of service attacks, a form of hack that makes an online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.
Corero added it will supply the unnamed hosting provider with multiple SmartWall Threat Defense System products under the order, including its SecureWatch services on a three-year basis, which means the provider will be able to offer the protection as a service to its customer base.
"The demand in the global hosting provider market for automatic, in-line, realtime distributed denial of service attacks protection represents a significant opportunity for SmartWall Threat Defense System. This contract builds on our recent hosting provider success in the US," said Corero Chief Executive Ashley Stephenson.
Shares in Corero were down 0.9% at 24.15 pence on Monday.
