(Alliance News) - Corero Network Security PLC on Thursday said it received additional product orders for its SmartWall distributed denial-of-service protection service.
DDOS is a type of cyber attack where multiple compromised systems, which are often infected with a Trojan virus, are used to target a single system.
Corero said the orders came from both existing customers and a new US research university Juniper SmartWall software subscription customer, totaling USD1.8 million over the course of the contracts.
"We are pleased to have secured another new customer with Juniper for the Corero SmartWall technology. In parallel, to have added further SmartWall business from our existing customers as their businesses grow, continues to contribute to our strong momentum," Chief Executive Officer Ashley Stephenson said.
Shares in the network security company were up 17% at 4.80 pence in London on Thursday.
