LONDON (Alliance News) - Corero Network Security PLC said on Wednesday it has released a beta version of its Corero SmartWall Network Threat Defense - Virtual Edition.
Corero said the new software, named vNTD Monitor, uses the same analytics technology as Corero's flagship product SmartWall Threat Defense System appliance, to monitor distributed denial of service attacks, a form of hack that makes on online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.
The company said the product will be cloud-based and should lead to higher demand for the SmartWall Threat Defense System appliance which provides protection against the hacks.
"The introduction of vNTD Monitor provides the freedom and flexibility to monitor DDoS activity against any server, application or network. It allows network and security teams the ability to stay in control of DDoS attacks in a cloud environment with visibility of attack traffic, intuitive analytics and alerting of DDoS attack vectors targeting the system or workload," said Chief Operating Officer Dave Larson.
Corero shares were untraded on Wednesday, having last traded at 21.17 pence.
