LONDON (Alliance News) - Corero Network Security PLC Wednesday said it has appointed David Larson, previously Hewlett-Packard's chief technology officer, to the role of chief technology officer and vice president of product.
In a statement, Corero Network Security said Larson will direct its technology and product strategy, as it seeks to deliver the next generation of denial-of-service attack and cyber threat defence software.
He will also charter the Corero Customer Advisory Council as a forum for the exchange of information on industry trends, business drivers, customer issues, and market opportunities.
"We are extremely pleased to have been able to attract somebody of David's calibre and proven leadership capabilities within the network security industry. His experience as an executive champion for large scale customer deployments will be very valuable for Corero," Ashley Stephenson, chief executive, said in a statement.
"David's appointment comes at a very exciting time for Corero. We launched the SmartWall TDS product in February and closed our first quarter of 2014 which saw sales order intake grow by 40% year over year. We are extremely encouraged by what we see as a significant market opportunity for Corero," Stephenson added.
Corero Network Security shares were Wednesday quoted at 17.45 pence, up 9.1%.
