Cora Gold Receives "Highly Encouraging" Results From Mali Gold Mine

24th Apr 2018 13:18

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cora Gold Ltd said Tuesday it has received "highly encouraging" assay results for its flagship Sanankoro gold discovery in southern Mali.

In the Sanankoro structure, there is a 3.6 kilometre continuous gold zone with depths of around 100 metres. This includes an "exceptionally mineralised" intercept of 35.7 grams of gold per tonne of ore over one metre.

In addition, the Sanankoro structure had 1.89 gold grams per tonne over 13 metres, 1.19 grams over 19 metres, 1.26 grams over 14 metres, and 4.88 grams over two metres.

In its Bokoro structure Cora had a 900 metre gold strike confirmed. This includes 4.92 gold grams per tonne over six metres, 1.56 grams over six metres, and 1.48 grams over six metres and 1.01 grams over 13 metres.

"The demonstration of a 3,600 metre long continuous gold structure highlights Sanankoro's position as a new gold discovery with the potential to become a significant development asset," Chief Executive Jonathan Forster said.

"We have also identified a 900m long zone of continuous gold mineralisation on the previously untested Bokoro Structure to the west. Having defined the gold zones, the next step will be to target the higher-grade areas."

Forster added there remained "every chance of identifying additional new zones on both the Sanankoro and Bokoro structures with future drilling."

Shares in Cora were 8.2% lower at 12.40 pence on Tuesday.
