(Alliance News) - Explorer Cora Gold Ltd has appointed former Amara Mining PLC executive Ed Bowie as a non-executive director.
Bowie served as head of business development of Amara, managing its merger with Perseus Mining Ltd in 2016.
Cora also said Non-Executive Director Bert Monro will step down from his position to become business development head at Cora. He is the current head of business development at Hummingbird Resources PLC, a major Cora shareholder, and will perform both duties simultaneously.
Cora's Chief Executive Jon Forster said: "I am pleased to welcome Ed Bowie to the board of directors. Entrenched in both the mining sector and London's corporate finance sphere, I am sure Ed's experience and wide network of contacts will be of benefit to the company as it advances its strategy of becoming a successful gold explorer in West Africa.
"I would like to thank Bert for his valuable contribution to the board of the directors since the company's IPO in October 2017. I look forward to working closely with him in his new role of business development where I am sure that he will do excellent work in raising the profile of the company and working alongside me as we look to advance both Sanankoro and wider exploration on the ground."
Cora Gold shares were down 5.5% on Monday in London at 4.30 pence each.
