LONDON (Alliance News) - Consort Medical PLC said Monday that it had received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for its auto-injector programme INJ300.
The company said that it expects to launch the auto-injector product in the first quarter of 2014, ahead of its previous expectations.
An auto-injector is a device designed to deliver a dose of a drug by either the patient themselves or untrained personnel.
"This regulatory approval of our first auto-injector represents a major milestone for Consort Medical's Injectibles technology, and is a significant step in the execution of our diversification strategy," said Chief Executive Jonathan Glenn in a statement.
Shares in Consort were trading up 1.1% at 1,077.25 pence Monday morning.
