Connemara Mining Sees Renewed Interest In Its Zinc And Gold Assets

17th Jul 2014 11:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Connemara Mining Company PLC said Thursday that after years in the "doldrums" there are signs that the exploration sector is picking up, with zinc prices rising, gold stable and some interest in its assets.

The company, which held its annual general meeting Thursday, said its partner at its Limerick zinc site continues with its programme of limited geophysical and lithogeochemical testing.

The Ireland-based company said the initial exploration results at its Donegal gold site showed some encouraging geochemical zones associated with its new structural/geological model for this under-explored area.

Connemara said it has extended its Thurles Licences to 2016 and has been awarded a new licence in Kilkenny, close to the Rapla mineralised zone.

Connemara shares were untraded Thursday afternoon; they were last quoted at 2.10p.
