(Alliance News) - Concurrent Technologies PLC on Tuesday said it has engineered and now shipped a new version of a flagship 3U VPX plug-in card.
The Essex, England-based designer and manufacturer of computer boards said the original TR K9x/6sd card had been successfully used in visual computing applications.
This included a previously announced GBP1.6 million contract that contributed to the company's record 2022 order intake of GBP31.5 million, Concurrent Technologies said.
The company said the new variant, which has twice the memory capacity, extends the use case to cyber and radio applications, "significantly increasing" the estimated full lifetime value of the product.
"Our well-defined and streamlined product lifecycle process, augmented with our in-house manufacturing capability, [allowed] us to rapidly prototype this new product variant," said Director of Engineering Nigel Jowitt.
"The validation and environmental qualification steps were completed as planned by carefully managing and retiring risks. This enabled us to ship qualified products in a timeframe that delighted a lead customer, showing we are again on track to achieve one of our key strategic objectives of releasing more products faster."
Shares in Concurrent were up 1.7% to 74.25 pence each in London on Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday last week, Concurrent said it launched a dual enclave switch card called Iris, which was manufactured by an unnamed partner company specialising in electromagnetic spectrum solutions.
Concurrent said the initial orders for Iris will be completed this year, with deployment starting in 2024.
